Job Title: Senior Claims Specialist
Job Summary
TheSenior Claims Specialistrole involves managing complex claims proactively and efficiently. The position requires leveraging analytical problem-solving and communication expertise to resolve claims while ensuring compliance with policies procedures and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Handle a wide range of complex claims including but not limited to property liability or specialty claims.
- Investigate evaluate and resolve claims efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communicate with customers vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure clear and timely updates throughout the claims process.
- Negotiate settlements in accordance with company policies ensuring fair and equitable outcomes for all stakeholders.
- Analyze documentation including contracts and reports to determine coverage and liability.
- Stay up-to-date with regulations litigation trends and industry standards to comply with legal and compliance requirements.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior claims specialists fostering professional growth within the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance overall efficiency and service quality.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in insurance business or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of claims handling experience particularly within a complex or specialized claim environment.
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies claims processes and state-specific regulations.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Proven ability to negotiate settlements and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Adept at using claims management software and other relevant tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certification (e.g. CPCU AIC) is a plus.
