Job Description:

Length of term: 4 months (Summer 2026)

HYBRID/REMOTE

This co-op opportunity is voluntarily in person remote or hybrid. If you decide remote or hybrid you will be required to work within the province. Remote work outside of the province will not be a possibility.

This role will provide support Security Analytics team. Focus for this role will be to learn and support AWS infrastructure data governance including data quality to find anomalies and malicious activities.

What will you do

The Junior Security Analysts (co-op) main accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Data Governance Support Support in maintaining the health of Security Analytics AWS environment by finding ways to enhance the data quality and documentation of tables processes and procedures.
  • Data Engineering Support Support and drive data tagging on historical data to support various data and analytics use cases and proof of concepts
  • POCs Provide support on POCs of new technology on cloud and tools that can bring speed to Data Engineering and Data pipelines. Minimal code to no code concepts
  • Collaboration Work collaboratively with multiple technology teams within security data & analytics cloud and architecture teams to outline initiatives and project outcomes.

What do you need to succeed

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary or equivalent degree with a focus (i.e. major) on one of the following:
    • Computer Science with supporting education or experience in business management.
    • Business Management with supporting education or experience in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Programming with SQL and/or Python. Any knowledge of AWS technologies such as Glue RedShift Lambda EC2 etc is a BIG Plus
  • Excellent MS Excel and PowerPoint skills for data manipulation charts and presentations.
  • Knowledge in database technologies and programming languages
  • A demonstrated interest in cyber security.
  • Confidence of positioning thoughts with seasoned team members

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.

Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
