Facility General Manager

Clean Harbors located in Phoenix AZ is seeking to add a Facility General Manager to their team. The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership operational performance regulatory compliance and financial results of the Phoenix AZ facility. This role provides strategic and day-to-day oversight of treatment storage and disposal operations. The General Manager ensures safe compliant and efficient facility operations while fostering a strong safety culture maintaining regulatory excellence and delivering operational results aligned with Clean Harbors environmental stewardship and business objectives.

• Direct all facility operations including hazardous waste treatment stabilization landfill operations and specialized waste streams;
• Provide leadership for handling and managements wastesRCRA hazardous ensuring strict adherence to federal state and local regulations;
• Oversee plant maintenance engineering environmental compliance logistics and waste acceptance processes;
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety efficiency cost control and operational reliability;
• Champion asafety-first culture ensuring compliance with OSHA EPA CDPHE and applicable radiation safety requirements;
• Maintain compliance with RCRA permits operating plans contingency plans and environmental monitoring requirements;
• Lead incident investigations corrective actions and regulatory reporting;
• Serve as the primary site leader for regulatory inspections audits and agency interactions;
• Ensure compliance withRCRA TSDF permit conditions and associated environmental regulations;
• Maintain accurate records related to hazardous waste manifests waste profiles and radioactive material controls;
• Partner with corporate environmental and compliance teams to implement regulatory updates and best practices;
• Manage facility P&L budgeting forecasting and cost controls;
• Optimize throughput asset utilization and operating margins while maintaining compliance;
• Support business development by ensuring operational readiness for approved waste streams including NORM and specialized hazardous materials;
• Identify capital improvement needs and oversee execution of approved projects;
• Lead mentor and develop a multidisciplinary management team and hourly workforce;
• Promote accountability engagement and high performance across all departments;
• Ensure staffing training and competency requirements are met for hazardous and radioactive material handling;
• Foster a culture of environmental responsibility and operational excellence;
• All other duties as assigned by management.

• Bachelors degree in engineering Environmental Science Chemistry or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) preferred;
• Minimum of710 years of progressive leadership experiencein hazardous waste environmental services chemical processing or regulated industrial operations;
• Demonstrated experience managingRCRA-regulated facilities;
• Strong understanding of environmental permitting compliance systems and regulatory inspections;
• Proven financial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational performance;
• Prior experience managing a TSDF or landfill operation;
• Familiarity with state and federal environmental agencies and inspection processes;
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to balance operational execution and regulatory rigor.
