Purpose of the post
TheData and Insight teamis primarily responsible for delivering the IMAs monitoring function by:
- Gatheringtimelyrelevantand credible intelligence from a wide range of sources.
- Adopting analytical techniquesin order toidentifypotential systemic issues.
- Using insights gained to inform key decision makers across the IMA.
The team is also responsible forreviewing complaints about the delivery by the UK government and public authorities of the above commitments to citizens rights including residency;work;social security and equal treatment.
TheIntelligenceOfficerwillundertake research using a wide variety of sources to assess and evaluate information and inform thedevelopmentof Preliminary Reviews andintelligence products to support decision making and the identification of possible systemic issues for consideration.
TheIntelligence Officer may alsobe responsible formanaging a team of Administrators who will handle theinitialassessment of complaints and intelligence received by the IMA.
The post holder may also conduct day to day line management activities such as providing oversight of workloads and thetimelyassessment of complaints and intelligence received.
The work will require close attention to detail ability to assimilate information and produce clear and evidenced reports.
Responsibilities
- Conductingfocusedresearch to produce intelligence and/ or inform analytical products including collectingcollatingand evaluating information from a wide variety of sources.
- Collaboratingengagingand corresponding with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including members of the public legal advisers complainants non-governmentorganisationsand lobby groups.
- Distributing information and communications inan appropriate e-mailand to the correct area of the IMA.
- Maintainingaccuratecomplaint information on a case management system and intelligence database.
- Collatingprocessingandallocatingintelligence associated documentation on the intelligence database.
- Providing guidance and support to the administrators on assessment of complaints and intelligence received.
- Preparingmaintainingand collating complaint recordsfilesand management informationin accordance withorganisational procedures.
- Identifyingcollectingandacquiringrelevant and credible intelligence that can be developed to informprogression ofwork.
- Maintain and check establisheddatabases manual filingsystemsand logs of information responding within agreed timescales and producing reports asrequired.
- Act as secretary to meetings as required including organising agenda takingand distributing minutes and action points.
