Job Summary

Outpatient PT Rehabilitation Services Main Campus Outpatient PT 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday Requirements: B.S. in Physical Therapy from an accredited school. Current licensure by Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners (ETA 3 wks) - 1 year experience preferred Job Summary: The Licensed Physical Therapist provides and executes a Physical Therapy plan of care for patients who have impairments functional limitations disabilities or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury disease or other causes. Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities: Evaluates and executes a Physical Therapy plan of care for patients. Documents patient care and charges. Provides leadership and direction for Physical Therapist Assistants support staff and Physical Therapy students. Participates in professional development and continuing education to insure compliance with licensure laws and hospital policies. Participates in departmental operational planning and goals action item meetings. Job description is not an all-inclusive list of duties and may be subject to change with or without notice. Staff are expected to perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: B.S. in Physical Therapy from an accredited school. Current licensure by Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners. Preferred Qualifications: 1 year experience as a Physical Therapist. Knowledge Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of Physical Therapy principles. Knowledge of the skills necessary to provide care of service appropriate to the age culture and sex of the patient. Knowledge of the rules and regulations of healthcare compliance. Skilled in oral and written communication. Skilled with computers and computer programs. Skilled in the delivery of high quality customer service. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor to both internal and external customers and to promote good interpersonal relationships. Ability to organize and manage time effectively. Ability to work productively under stressful situations. Physical Requirements Prolonged standing sitting walking reading writing talking use of computer. Hearing ability for verbal communication via telephone systems and person - to -person. Clear concise speaking ability to provide information and instruction. Visual acuity to read information from computer screens forms and other printed materials and information. Manual and tactile dexterity for palpation use of computer keyboard/typing writing handling/ sorting objects and forms. Flexibility and body movement for bending crouching walking kneeling standing reaching lifting and moving objects and equipment (approximately 25 lbs.. or more with assistance). Able to meet physical demands of the job with assistive or adaptive devices or reasonable accommodations. Work Environment Work is indoors and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours and /or overtime hours and/or occasional weekend hours on short notice. Local travel to duties may be performed at multiple sites. Exposure to environment temperature changes hazardous/noxious fumes fetid smells air/blood borne pathogens such as HIV Hep. B TB and other contagious diseases. Environment is noisy involves frequent interruptions or distractions. Duties subject to stressful pressures and deadlines. Wearing of uniform or a specific style/type of clothing and jewelry/accessories limitations or restriction may be required.
