About the Role

St Peters Lutheran College Springfield is seeking a dedicated and experienced Certificate III/IV qualified Teaching Assistant (Primary) to work collaboratively with classroom teachers and the Head of Primary Years to support high-quality teaching and learning. This role involves assisting with classroom activities supervising students and contributing to a nurturing inclusive environment that promotes the academic social emotional and physical development of all students. The successful applicant will play a key role in fostering positive respectful and trusting relationships with students and their families.

This is a Permanent Part-time position working 38 hours in a week for 40 weeks in a years during school Terms.

Key Responsibilities

As a Primary Years Teaching Assistant your role includes but is not limited to:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging learning experiences and preparing classroom resources.
  • Under teacher guidance work with individual students and small groups to support literacy numeracy and inquiry learning and provide targeted support with diverse learning.
  • Supervise students across classrooms activities and excursions to ensure safety and wellbeing.
  • Assist with the administration of assessment classroom organisation transitions and day-to-day tasks.

What you Bring

  • Certificate III/IV in Education Support or a related qualification
  • Experience supporting learning in a primary school setting
  • Strong skills in assisting literacy numeracy and social development of primary-aged students
  • Sound understanding of classroom routines school policies and duty of care
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with teachers and contribute positively to a flexible team-based environment
  • High level of professionalism including confidentiality respect for diversity and commitment to inclusive education
  • Willingness to complete a Child Protection Training as required
