Job Summary

Job Title: WEC Specialist (Directional Drilling)

Location: Midland TX 79706

Duration: 12 Months

Pay Rate: $34/hour

Reimbursable Expenses

  • Rental car (paid out of pocket initially; reimbursed after return)
  • Mileage reimbursement when using a personal vehicle instead of a rental
  • Per diem: $35/day
  • Work-related purchases reimbursable with prior approval

Shift Hours & Rotation

  • Rotation typically 20 days on / 10 days off (may vary)
  • Typical shifts are 12.5 hours per day
  • Contractors generally remain on a single well or pad for the duration of a hitch
  • Relief can be requested as needed
  • Not on call during scheduled days off
  • When waiting at home for a new assignment advance notice is provided when possible

Travel & Work Location

  • Work performed across U.S. land operations primarily in:
    • Texas
    • Pennsylvania
    • Oklahoma
  • Flights and hotel accommodations are arranged by the company

Role Overview

The WEC Specialist DMHV DD is responsible for delivering safe efficient and reliable directional drilling service delivery to customers at the wellsite. This role focuses on operational execution risk management service quality and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute directional drilling service delivery safely and efficiently
  • Ensure all job deliverables are accurate complete and delivered on time
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and operational performance
  • Implement standard work procedures and manage operational risk during service delivery
  • Participate in job risk analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct self-assessments wellsite inspections and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Participate in Service Quality Meetings and support action plans to improve performance
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to promote products and services
  • Actively participate in HSE and Quality initiatives
  • Wear required PPE and strictly follow HSE policies and procedures
  • Maintain all required safety training and certifications


Required Experience & Skills

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work effectively with others
  • 3 5 years of relevant directional drilling experience
  • Willingness to cross-train in MWD (Measurement While Drilling)

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Motor experience
  • MWD experience or familiarity with sliding operations

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
