Primary Art Teacher (Graduates Encouraged)

Part Time (0.8 FTE) Permanent position commencing immediately

$73800-$104800 per annum (based on 0.8 FTE) depending on experience

Whilst implementing best practice curriculum in teaching areas to support the physical social emotional and cognitive needs of the students you will work collaboratively with the campus Curriculum Coordinator to achieve the aims and objectives of the school and develop cooperative relationships that ensure the smooth operation of the Primary will also work collaboratively with the pastoral care coordinator to ensure the wellbeing of TAS students.

In addition to a strong commitment to continuous improvement in conjunction with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (AITSL) you will apply the Art and Science of Teaching (ASOT) by Robert Marzano and Essential Skills of Classroom Management (ESCM) which underpin the schools pedagogical management approach.

Do you have

  • A Bachelor of Education or appropriate tertiary/teaching qualification (essential)
  • Bachelor of Arts with a specialisation in Creative Design (desired)
  • Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
  • A current First Aid Certificate in an Education and Care environment (or willingness to obtain)
  • A CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Are you a team player who can

  • Implement best practice curriculum in your core teaching area using the Kodaly methodology
  • Develop plan implement and evaluate age-appropriate programmes for the physical social emotional and cognitive needs of the students
  • Coordinate and Art exhibitions that showcase student talent
  • Maintain all school records; assess record and report on student progress
  • Be aware of special/additional needs cultural linguistic religious gender language diversities and socio-economic differences and treat each child with dignity and respect
  • Liaise with and support parents and actively encourage parent involvement
  • Participate in staff development days Outdoor Education Programs Year Level Information Evenings Parent Teacher Interviews Principals Welcome Evenings Excursions Musical Productions and Co-curricular activities.
  • Encourage students to be lifelong learners
