Job description:
Your Role:
- Responsible for planning supporting and executing global and regional infrastructure projects
- Support activities related to database support during infrastructure events changes related to DB Maintenance DC activities
- Remediation and migration of the banks end of life infrastructure.
- Compliance with operational/ change management guidelines.
Your experience and skills:
- UNIX /Linux/Solaris Specialist
- Proven Experience in Linux/Solaris OS Usage (running commands managing file and Id's)
- In depth Operating Systems Administration Knowledge
- Must have strong Solaris administration 5.11/10/9
- Must have strong Red Hat LINUX Administration(6.7/6/5J
- Expert level in SVM/VxVM/ZFS and LVM
- Expert level in VCS/RedHat cluster
- Expert level in LDOM and Zones and strong debugging skills
- Expert level in SAN and NAS storage
- Shell or other scripting
- Strong OS concepts OS kernel patching and network (NGNI) knowledge
- RCA of recurring issues and patch fixes especially for Server Migration
- Knowledge on OS Clone and image copy
- Knowledge on hardware/product which includes copper/fibre links (1G and 10G)
- Project planning and management skills
Generic Skills:
- Able to establish good working relationship with various teams
- Technical Troubleshooting Skills / Problem solving ability
- Issue Management and effective escalation management
- Global User support exposure is an advantage
- Technical understanding of the project content and delivery (timely accomplishment of assigned responsibility)
- Ability to work under pressure/ tight deadline
- Good written and spoken English able to communicate in English with remote teams whose first language is not English
- Teamwork ability to contribute to and work in a team as well as at times step up and lead a number of people when handling problems or incidents
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills capable of writing/contributing to technical knowledge articles
- Independent problem-solving skills and effective time management
- Ability to analyse and solve problems quickly and completely
- Good troubleshooting skills with knowledge or key operating system concepts
