Job Summary
As a Python Developer you will join our multinational team of experienced developers working on our Extraction and Recognition service. This is a serverside solution for extracting data from the visual inspection zones of identity documents. Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a Python based machine learning application built with FastAPI.
- Design build and document secure scalable and maintainable RESTful APIs.
- Improve application performance response times and throughput.
- Work with eventdriven architectures messaging systems (e.g. SQS) and caching technologies.
- Configure application observability using tools like the ELK stack.
- Collaborate within our Machine Learning & Data Science team and with other teams (e.g. Cloud/DevOps Java Backend) to integrate services.
- Work in a hybrid model spending at least 2-3 days per week in our office in Enschede.

What Were Looking For:
- A university degree (MSc or BSc) in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience programming skills in Python and experience with containerisation (e.g. Docker)
- A proven track record of deploying scalable solutions in a production environment in Python.
- Handson experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI Django REST Framework or Flask.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture distributed systems and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
- Experience with CI/CD tools Git and collaborative development practices (code reviews merge requests).
- A security minded approach
- Fluent English skills.
- Bonus points for knowledge of machine learning or computer vision.
