Located on Victorias Mornington Peninsula Woodleigh School is an independent coeducational school comprising two Junior Campuses Minimbah in Frankston South and Penbank in Moorooduc and a Senior Campus in Langwarrin South.

Woodleigh is currently seeking applications for an experienced Early Childhood Centre (ECC) Assistant (in our three and four-year-old programs) at the Penbank Campus. The part time hours are 12pm - 2.30pm on Thursdays. (If you are unable to do these hours but are interested in working casually in our ECC then please still apply clearly stating you are after casual work in your cover letter.)

The ECC Assistant is a qualified member of the Woodleigh Early Childhood team employed to assist the teachers and Director of Early Childhood in the implementation of the Centres Program.

The program is inspired by the approaches of Reggio Emilia and follows the structures of the primary years program of the International -based learning child-led inquiry nature pedagogy and First Nations perspectives are deeply embedded in the program. Experience or interest in these approaches would be beneficial and an understanding of nature pedagogy and passion for working outdoors is essential for all educators engaged in our program.

Selection Criteria:

Must be able to demonstrate:

• An understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children
• Relevant classroom teaching experience or experience working with children
• Professional practice that is strongly aligned with the expectations of The Woodleigh Teacher
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication skills both written and oral
• Knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Learning Development Framework and the PYP
• Well developed ICT skills

Education and Qualifications:

• Appropriate Diploma of Early Childhood Education
• Appropriate Certificate III qualifications may be considered

Conditions of Employment

• A Working with Children Check is required for this position.
• Qualification and First Aid Training confirmation is required for this position.
