Job Summary

The Laser Operator is responsible for operating CNC laser cutting equipment to cut metal

materials according to engineering drawings work orders and production schedules. This role

supports fabrication operations by ensuring parts are produced accurately efficiently and safely

while meeting quality standards.

Responsibilities

Set up operate and monitor CNC laser cutting machines to cut steel stainless steel

aluminum and other materials as required.

Load and unload raw material sheets using overhead cranes forklifts or other material

handling equipment as applicable.

Interpret and follow engineering drawings blueprints work orders and cut lists.

Verify material type thickness and dimensions prior to cutting.

Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using measuring tools such as calipers

tape measures and micrometers.

Adjust machine parameters (speed power focus) as required to ensure cut quality.

Remove cut parts sort label and stage material for downstream fabrication processes.

Perform routine machine maintenance including cleaning lenses checking consumables

and basic troubleshooting.

Identify and report equipment issues material defects or quality concerns to supervision.

Follow all company safety policies including PPE requirements and lockout/tagout

procedures.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency quality and safety.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

13 years of experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment in a fabrication or

manufacturing environment.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints drawings and basic GD&T.

Experience using basic inspection and measuring tools.

Familiarity with metal materials such as carbon steel stainless steel and aluminum.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. with or without assistance.

Ability to bend stoop reach and perform repetitive motions.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise dust and varying

temperatures

Schedule: M-F 7am-3:30pm with OT Saturdays 7am-12noon

Pay rate: $22-$25hr. Less
