This internship will provide hands-on experience in developing process improvements for cybersecurity data ingestion and reporting which are essential for generating accurate insights on vulnerabilities and criticality status of OT machines across Emerson. The project will serve as both a learning experience and a meaningful contribution to the organizations AI cybersecurity and automation initiatives. Emerson interns are given meaningful work support and mentorship from experienced managers and key business leaders. There is strong potential to gain knowledge and experience in various ways by exploring opportunities aligned with your interests and academic background.
In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Assisting in developing automation workflows that ingest cybersecurity and machine data through API integrations.
- Transforming raw and ingested data into clear actionable reports and dashboards for leadership cybersecurity teams and technical groups.
- Documenting processes workflows procedures and findings to support transparency and future knowledge transfer.
- Participating in discussions with project teams and contributing ideas that enhance efficiency reporting quality and automation opportunities.
Who You Are:
You identify and seizes new opportunities. You are effective in a variety of communication settings: one-on-one small and large groups or among diverse styles and position levels. You come up with useful ideas that are new better or unique.
For This Role You Will Need:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science Information Technology Computer Engineering or any related field.
- Ability to complete at least 480 internship hours (open to both required and voluntary internships).
- Ability to start on March 9 2026.
- Basic knowledge of Python or another programming language.
- Familiarity with virtual machines and Linux environments.
- Understanding of APIs and how they are integrated into workflows.
- General exposure to automation data processing or cybersecurity concepts.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Strong skills in data interpretation analysis and reporting.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools technologies and systems.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity processes tools or operational environments.
