We are seeking an applicant to take on the role of Clinical Nurse - Theatre Consumables Coordinator supporting the safe and efficient delivery of surgical services across the Perioperative Department. This role is responsible for coordinating all theatre consumables and specialised equipment maintaining imprest systems supporting staff with product queries and ensuring clinical readiness for procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Act as an advanced clinical resource applying high-level critical thinking and problem-solving.
Deliver education in-services and support to nursing and perioperative staff.
Support staff orientation competency development and mentoring.
Provide clinical leadership within the unit including acting in charge when required.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives accreditation and clinical audits.
Consumables & Equipment Coordination
Maintain and review theatre imprest levels for consumables and sterile stock.
Ensure consumables and equipment are prepared and available for surgical lists.
Manage stock ordering labelling catalogue updates and par levels.
Liaise with suppliers Supply and CSSD to ensure timely supply and resolve product issues.
Provide stock usage data to support optimisation and cost control.
Monitor updates to the National Prosthesis Schedule and communicate impacts.
Conduct regular stock audits to ensure compliance safety and traceability.
Essential Criteria
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum 4 years post-registration experience including 3 years in perioperative nursing.
Advanced clinical knowledge with the ability to function as a resource nurse.
Strong understanding of perioperative workflows and sterile stock processes.
High-level communication mentoring and organisational skills.
Desirable Criteria
Experience in theatre consumables or supply coordination.
Knowledge of sterile stock management systems.
Requirements
Must provide or complete aNational Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
According to the role Ramsay may require proof of immunisationagainst infectious diseases.
