Due to ongoing growth our busy Dunedin team are on the search for a Payroll Officer. Working alongside the Senior Payroll Officer this position will provide and ensure accurate timely and efficient processing of payroll runs for all OceanaGold (New Zealand) employees. Based in our Dunedin city office this role works a Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm roster.
Please note that only those with full New Zealand work rights / current NZ Visa will be considered.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Always maintain a high degree of integrity and confidentiality
- Liaise with Human Resources across our Macraes and Waihi sites to ensure all new employees and changes to existing employees are processed on a timely basis
- Update and maintain employee data in Success Factors and other applicable systems
- Respond to internal and external Payroll queries
- Assist with processing of all fortnightly and monthly pay runs. Ensure pay runs are checked by senior member of the Finance team prior to payment
- Support the implementation training and support of any new or changes to the existing Payroll functions as required
- Assist with collation and payment of all leave forms and all other payroll related forms by employees
- Assist with ensuring all employee information is correct with leave forms timesheets deductions allowances etc
- Ensure all employee information on leave forms timesheets deductions and allowances are accurate and documentation is filled in an orderly and prompt manner
- Provide earnings details to appropriate external agencies (e.g. ACC WINZ) as and when required
- Comply with and observe all company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) guidelines and policies
Qualifications :
- Any payroll or finance qualifications well regarded but not essential
- Full and Current Class 1 Driver Licence
- Demonstrated sound numeracy skills high attention to details and accuracy essential
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Office suite products required
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 years experience in a payroll administration or similar capacity role using computerised software; knowledge and operating experience in dealing with Payroll outsource providers ADP and SuccessFactors would be highly regarded
