JOB DETAILS:
Starting pay: $19 per hour
Shift: 1st shift 6:00am - 4:30pm Monday-Friday (Saturdays based on business need)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts and investigating discrepancies. This role supports production shipping and purchasing by ensuring inventory accuracy and proper stock levels. The Cycle Counter works closely with warehouse production and materials teams to identify root causes of variances and help improve inventory control processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily and scheduled cycle counts of raw materials WIP and finished goods.
- Research and reconcile inventory discrepancies including location quantity and transaction errors.
- Document findings and report recurring issues to inventory control or materials leadership.
- Partner with warehouse and production teams to correct inventory errors and prevent future variances.
- Verify inventory transactions such as receipts transfers issues and adjustments.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP or inventory management system.
- Support physical inventory counts.
- Follow inventory control procedures and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and counting processes.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or GED required; additional technical or logistics training preferred.
- Minimum of 35 years of material handling or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory control warehouse operations and production support processes.
- Proficient in ERP or inventory management systems (JDE).
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate team members.
- Attention to detail and ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Familiarity with FIFO and inventory control best practices
- Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Work performed on the production floor.
- Regular standing walking and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Use of PPE as required (safety glasses gloves sleeves steel/composite toe shoes).
- Work performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to noise dust and temperature variations.
