RESPEC has an opening for a civil engineering intern in the Water Division in the Fairbanks AK office. The intern will be expected to work 40 hours a week during the summer.
This position involves work tasks that support planning design and construction of various water and wastewater engineering projects generally for public agencies and municipalities. Interdisciplinary work with other engineering disciplines as well as survey staff is also anticipated. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of experienced engineering staff in our Water Division.
Qualifications :
Required:
- Pursuing a bachelors degree in environmental or civil engineering with interest in water and wastewater
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and willingness to ask questions and learn in a professional consulting environment
- Willing to travel within the borough for various construction activity support and work outside in varying weather conditions
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word Excel and Outlook)
- Knowledge/experience in AutoCAD (or similar software) and/or GIS
- Strong problem-solving and math skills
Additional Information :
Compensation: Hourly wage depends on education and experience range is $21-$26 DOEQ; plus statutory insurance requirements.
