The position of IT Specialist (Cloud Engineering) is assigned to the Infrastructure and Technology (ITID) Division within the Information Technology Department. You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila Philippines and relocation is required. All reasonable relocation expenses will be covered.
You will report to the Director and will oversee Junior team members.
As an IT Specialist (Cloud Engineering) you will play a critical role in designing and implementing highly available fault-tolerant and resilient cloud architectures across multiple regions and multiple cloud providers Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will focus on modernizing and migrating existing cloud resources to a robust architecture that supports automated failover and disaster recovery. You will have deep expertise in cloud infrastructure design multi-region deployments and cross-cloud strategies to ensure business continuity and operational excellence.
Design and implement multi-region multi-cloud architectures with automated failover and disaster recovery capabilities.
Lead migration initiatives to transition existing cloud resources to more resilient and scalable architectures.
Develop and enforce best practices for high availability fault tolerance and disaster recovery across Azure and AWS environments.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
Implement cross-region replication and failover strategies for critical workloads and data.
Monitor and optimize cloud systems for performance availability and cost-efficiency across multiple clouds.
Ensure security and compliance through IAM encryption network segmentation and adherence to compliance standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps application teams and IT operations to ensure seamless migration and integration.
Document architecture designs migration plans and operational procedures for resilience and disaster recovery.
Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance resilience and multi-cloud capabilities.
You will need:
A University degree in Computer Science Information Technology Computer Engineering or related fields preferably at post-graduate level or equivalent.
At least 6 years work experience with international experience working in several countries.
Proven experience in designing and implementing multi-region highly available architectures in Azure and AWS.
Hands-on experience with cloud migration projects including workload assessment planning and execution.
Strong understanding of cloud services (compute storage networking) and resilience strategies (e.g. active-active active-passive failover).
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution in multi-cloud environments.
Evaluate and integrate new cloud technologies into existing infrastructure.
Ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
Written and verbal proficiency in English.

Additional Information
This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.
This position is funded by a temporary funding source (e.g. a trust fund financing facility or capital expenditure budget) and therefore the renewal of the appointment and its duration are subject to the availability of the funding source.
This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew initially for a period of up to 2 years or up to the Normal Retirement Date (NRD) whichever comes earlier for the purpose(s) and conditions determined by ADB in accordance with Administrative Order No. 2.01 (Recruitment and Appointment). After the initial fixed-term period ADB may choose to renew the appointment for up to an additional 2 years or not renewed. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB based on factors including but not limited to the requirement of Staffs particular blend of skills and experience for the medium-term work program of the organizational unit sufficient funding to cover the renewed period and Staffs performance and suitability for employment. There is no limit to the number of renewals up to NRD. However this appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment.
