Senior Engineering Officer Civil Design

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineering Officer Civil Design to join our Zone Substation Design Team. This role has a preferred location of Port Macquarie however anywhere within our operational footprint will also be considered.

The Senior Engineering Officer Civil Design is responsible for delivering detailed civil engineering designs technical evaluations and engineering support across a broad range of design functions. The role plays a critical part in supporting safe compliant and efficient network operations by developing highquality civil and structural designs leading investigations and contributing to improvements in design standards and processes.

Working closely with internal stakeholders technical specialists and external partners the Senior Engineering Officer provides expert technical advice develops detailed design documentation and supports the continuous improvement of systems standards and procedures. The role also contributes to strategic planning system enhancement activities and the development of design philosophies that ensure our network continues to meet customer regulatory and future infrastructure requirements.

This position requires strong analytical capability excellent technical design skills advanced CAD proficiency and the ability to collaborate effectively on complex engineering challenges. A solid understanding of civil and structural design principles relevant legislation and safe design requirements is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete implement and manage delivery of civil design work packets including design drafting and detailed reviews to achieve optimal commercial and technical outcomes.
• Conduct investigations prepare concept designs and support project teams with scope development and estimating.
• Coordinate engineering surveys as required to gather accurate data and inform detailed civil design activities.
• Provide mentoring training and development support to team members within the Network Design group.
• Collate statistical data conduct analysis and prepare highquality technical reports and recommendations relating to system and process enhancements.
• Develop and review civil design standards construction philosophies and design processes to support continuous improvement.
• Provide highlevel technical assistance and strategic advice to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Demonstrate behaviours aligned with Essential Energys Code of Conduct and Leadership Values promoting safety inclusion collaboration and continuous improvement.

About You

• Extensive experience in a civil/structural design engineering role within the energy electrical or construction industries.
• Comprehensive knowledge and application of civil design philosophies safe design principles statutory requirements and relevant standards.
• Proven experience applying analytical and technical expertise to resolve complex engineering issues.
• Demonstrated ability to develop accurate civil designs technical documents and detailed reports.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and deliver highquality technical outcomes.
• Highly organised flexible and selfmotivated with the ability to manage a varied and complex workload.
• Advanced CAD capability (2D and 3D) and strong attention to detail supported by sound business systems proficiency.
• Experience supervising coaching and mentoring team members.
• Understanding of project management and commercial contract management principles.

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma of Civil and / or Structural Engineering or equivalent capability demonstrated through experience and qualifications.
• Current drivers licence.
• WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Certificate.
• Level 3 Restricted Zone Substation Access.
• Knowledge and Application of STADD structural design software
• Knowledge and Experience using OpenRoads Designer 12d or similar
