Job Summary
Tomlinson is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our this leadershipfocused role you will apply your deep infrastructure and estimating expertise to prepare competitive tenders support project execution and contribute to continuous improvement across our estimating processes. You will work closely with construction project administration accounting and senior leadership to ensure accurate costing effective communication and strong client and subcontractor relationships. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who brings technical excellence strong analytical abilities and a collaborative mentorshipdriven approach to supporting both project success and the development of junior staff.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
PreparesCostEstimates forTenders
Obtainstender documents.
Attendsjob showings.
Reviewssite conditions
Performspre-qualification tasks asrequired.
Obtainsbonding insurance etc. for tender submissions.
Reviewsandcomprehendstender specificationsandcommunicateswith the tender consultant any questions or concerns.
Communicateswith sub-contractors to obtain pricing.
Performsquantity calculations for all tender items.
Performs 2dimensional digital takeoffs usingPlanswiftand/or Bluebeam as well as 3dimensional takeoffs using InSite or Trimble Business Center.
Reviews and interprets contract documents with a strong ability toidentify assess and mitigate project risks.
Pricing of items and jobs to be performed in a computerized estimation program.
Fillsout pre-tender forms for tender tracking fill out tender documents delivery of tender documents follow-up and provide tender results.
Reviewstender submissions with theappropriate manager.
Liaises with CustomersSub-contractorsandConsultingEngineers toBuildPersonalRelationships andPromotesthePositiveQualitiesand Benefits ofRWT
Attendsindustry related functions to build relationships and networks.
Communicateswith engineers through budget pricing etc. to build a relationship and toestablisha positive inviting culture.
Monitorsjob posting sites newspapers engineering firms etc. for tendering opportunities.
Internally CommunicatestoConstructionProjectAdministration andAccountingContractSpecification andCostingDetails
Issuesjob transmittals to construction contractadministrationand accounting.
Issuessub-contracts.
Meetswith job superintendent to provide and communicate relevant job information.
ProvidesProjectManagementSupport forContracts
Negotiatesadditionalwork prices for on-going contracts.
Approvessub-contract payments.
Approvescontract billings.
Providesscope of work clarification to construction.
Attendsjob meetings asrequired.
Issuesand circulatesjob change orders.
ReviewsJobCosts fromPrevious andOn-goingJobs toProvide Production Rate Analysis for ConstructionAndFuture Bids
Reviews on-going and completed contracts to look for un-invoiced work.
Reviews actual production rates toestablisha data base.
Reviews actual job costs and production rates tomore accurately estimate future bids.
Monitors and updates computerized estimation database to reflect current costs and contract information.
Work Towards Achieving More Advanced Training
Attends training sessions to continue personal development.
Identifiestraining opportunities and communicate to your manager.
Works with senior staff to develop skills.
Works with estimation to share and enhance individual knowledge and skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Certified Engineering Technologist designation or equivalent experience isrequired.
15 yearsInfrastructure field experience and estimation
Experience leading or mentoring junior staff
Ability to provide constructive feedback to peers
A highproficiencyin:
Microsoft Word
Excel
Outlook
Estimation software systems
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Standard office be required to work occasional weekends or evenings.
COMPENSATION INFORMATION:
The expected salary range for this position is $110000-$160000. Placement within the range is dependant on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
