At ING we are looking for a Financial Strategic Development Lead

We are looking for a knowledgeable and delivery-oriented Financial Strategic Development Lead that would like to take an exciting opportunity in ING Spain & Portugal for helping us to define and drive our ambition to be a strategic partner to senior management and business leaders.

You will be one of the leaders within the Management Accounting team in the CFO function.

The Financial Strategic Development Lead will have a small direct reporting team and it will work in strong and close collaboration with Finance Business & Budget Partners colleagues as well as in a hybrid collaboration with Global ING teams.

You will act as an advisor to the key business leaders in the bank for steering business development and contribute to shape the banks future.

You will build collaborative relationships to ensure early engagement with business teams to become part of the strategic discussion of new opportunities aligned with the Banks strategy.

You will act as a finance trusted partner providing an E2E holistic view on new segments P&L & BS providing insights challenging assumptions and supporting strategic decisions that drive business growth.

You will develop market knowledge and a strong outside-in-view. You will drive collaboration with global stakeholders contributing to strategic initiatives beyond local scope provide local expertise for international projects.

This position will place you in a dynamic environment with frequent exposure to senior leaders growth potential and the ability to have real impact on the future of our bank. You will receive close support and attention from your manager and peers in the delivery of your duties and your professional development.

Your key responsibilities

What youll be doing as a Finance Strategic Development Lead:

• Act as a linking pin between the business leadership and the rest of the finance function ensuring the banks strategy and financial ambition are known shared and embraced as one team.

• Being the finance partner to the stakeholder responsible for launching new business segments exploration of opportunities.
  • Full control and analysis of the P&L (income expenses risk cost) and Balance Sheet figures RWA customer figures and key KPIs.
  • Alignment with the key domains with ING (CIO COO CTO).

• Being able to translate analyses and business performance into concise and powerful presentations
  • Strategy papers and presentations (ExCo offsites meeting with senior management).
  • Local / Global Steercos.

• Streamline business case processes ensuring consistency and completeness and to free-up resources for value added analysis and tasks.
  • Co-develop financial models in close collaboration with Business & Budget Partner.

• Take ownership and accountability for the integrity of financial data and processes related to the new segments to further strengthen all key processes.

• Drive continuous Team development inspire and challenge the team to continuously keep developing and gaining the required skills to be the best they can be.

• Be an active contributor to the overall strategic partnering/financial planning function in finance. Bring your deep understanding of business and product knowledge into cross-functional strategic discussions on:
  • Strategy papers and presentations

• Bring external insights into strategic discussions incl. market trends and competitors strategies

What are we looking for

A strong set of technical and analytical abilities:

Master or bachelors degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience (preferably in banking and/or consulting).

Excellent speaking and writing skills in English is a must.

Good analytical skills. Understanding of advanced financial modelling and model optimization / automatization.

Proven planning & organizational skills.

Problem solving mindset.

Well-developed cooperation and communication skills (also in a digital way of working) to be able to act as a linking pin and smoothly interact with all departments and colleagues involved

Ability to work on an international level.
