The Social Media Team within the Department of Climate Change Energy the Environment and Water have a short-term opportunity for a Social Media Advisor to join the team until 27 March 2026.

The successful candidate will create compelling and thumb-stopping content across the departments social media channels report on content and campaign effectiveness and work with stakeholders to help them achieve their communications goals.

Youll join a vibrant and skilled team where no two days are the same but fun creativity and customer centricity are always front and centre!

About You

Youre a communications professional who can write clearly for different audiences and recognise the importance of clear and timely information that captures attention.

Youre confident editing short form video and writing snappy copy and customer centricity is at the heart of everything you do.

If you have sound knowledge of the latest social media trends are across pop culture and understand how to capture attention in a noisy online world we want to hear from you!

Key knowledge and experience

  • Experience managing social media channels (including content creation community management advertising and reporting) for a large and complex organisation or entity.
  • Strong content production skills including video editing graphic design and photo editing
  • Proven experience managing and reporting on social media campaigns including strategy optimisation benchmarking and reporting.

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications or other relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
