The Department of Climate Change Energy the Environment & Water (DCCEEW) are looking for a Senior Ethics Officer to join the team!

About the role

As a Senior Ethics Officer you will play a key role in supporting the departments ethical compliant and transparent operations. Youll deliver expert integrityrelated advice across the organisation with a particular focus on conflicts of interest complaints and ethical decisionmaking.

Working within the Audit & Ethics team youll research and analyse complex ethical issues guide staff and leaders through integrity considerations and contribute to the continued uplift of ethics frameworks and practices across the department.

What youll do

  • Provide expert timely advice on ethics and integrity mattersincluding probity conflict of interest complaint handling and emerging ethical risks.
  • Draft responses to received complaints in consultation with relevant business areas.
  • Prepare review and improve ethicsrelated procedures documentation and guidance.
  • Manage multiple matters simultaneously reprioritising effectively to meet tight deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across DCCEEW and other NSW Government agencies.
  • Prepare highquality reports and correspondence to support decisionmaking and performance reporting.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of ethics compliance strategies across the department.

Youre someone who brings:

  • Experience providing integrityrelated advice ideally with exposure to probity conflicts of interest ethical risk or corporate governance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly in writing.
  • Strong conflict and complaint management skills with a calm and composed approach in challenging situations.
  • Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills capable of managing multiple issues concurrently.
  • The confidence to provide honest advice challenge assumptions and uphold ethical standards.
