Program Information:
The Transitional Youth Support Service (TYSS) is an assertive outreach program for young people aged between 16-25 years who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. TYSS supports young people to strengthen their independence by providing support to achieve long term housing goals build on living skills and links to community.
Role Objectives:
TYSS facilitate a fortnightly outpost at a local homelessness entry point. At the outpost the team complete IAPs provide housing crisis support provide housing advice and refer on to long term support services.
The primary objective of the outpost is to provide a youth specialist interim housing crisis response to young people with the aim to reduce the impact of the homelessness system and achieve better outcomes for clients.
