$68.20 - $102.30EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Masters degree in Nursing Health Care Management or Business Administration. Bachelors degree in Nursing. Five years in field of Cardiovascular Services or relevant nursing areas. Three years experience in a management or supervisory position in a tertiary hospital setting. Outreach and outpatient clinical practice management experience preferred. LEADERSHIP: Ability to build strategic relationships with physicians internal departments and external organizations Change leadership - seeks opportunities for different and innovative approaches to addressing organizational problems or opportunities and manages change effectively Ability to make key decisions and commit to courses of action LICENSURE CERTIFICATION and/or REGISTRATION: Active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of applicable state required. Certification in administration or clinical specialty within one year of hire. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Exemplifies the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (WFBMC) Values and Code of Conduct while striving to identify compliance risk through department led risk assessments system monitoring and periodic audits and reporting any identified violation to Legal Services and Corporate Compliance Departments. Ensures immediate action is taken on any issues identified through a self-assessment or by Legal Services or Corporate Compliance; that policies are developed or revised as necessary; and that efforts are made to ensure a positive and compliant work environment for all employees. 2. Demonstrates leadership in the areas of: Clinical Competence in specialty assigned Nursing practice standards Human Resources Financial Management Planning Directing Continuous quality improvement Institutional support and representation Customer service 3. Quality/Culture of Safety: Assures a culture of safety in the Medical Center for patients self co-workers and facility in conjunction with Medical Directors and leaders of other professional disciplines. Creates an environment that facilitates the team to initiate actions that produce results. Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of evidence-based nursing practice to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Assumes responsibility for the Care Delivery Model and patient care outcomes. Identifies quality metrics for defined patient care area and formulates action plans for improvement. Supports outcome measurement and evidence-based practice through participation in national benchmarking programs. Participates in and supports ACC STS and other registries program accreditations pay for performance initiatives and payer directed centers of excellence programs. 4. Strategic Planning: Forecasts future equipment space and staff resource need; participates in the ongoing evaluation of the health care environment emerging technological advances and market potentials; conducts studies and recommends adjustments in the organization staffing systems and procedures. 5. Responsible for service line growth: Analyzes local and regional market data and seeking opportunities for program development partnerships and other business arrangements leading to growing and sustained market share. 6. Financial Management: Forecasts develops implements monitors and controls budgets; provides variance reports; optimizes available resources; participates in capital operational and salary budgeting; prepares current and projected capital equipment expenditures with assistance from supervisors and medical staff; reviews and presents operational salary and capital equipment budgets; revenue codes such as CPT-9 and ICD-9 and 10 codes for a more positive reimbursement; and verifies APC codes for maximizing reimbursement. Additionally measures nursing workload and allocates resources based on organizationally endorsed industry benchmarks and patient need. Facilitates and monitors the appropriate utilization of staff based on credentialing education competency and experience. 7. Customer Service: Provides resources for managers to ensure staff are dedicated to superb customer service; and responds to patient physician or staff complaints. Incorporates the Theory of Human Caring to ensure optimal care of patient team and self. Collaborates with Service Excellence and leaders of other disciplines to promote service recovery. Promotes decisions that are patient and family-centered. 8. Human Resources - Building and Retaining Organizational Talent: Develops retains recruits and leads a talented management team committed to accomplishing the organizational/business unit goals objectives and corporate compliance standards. Recommends implements and evaluates plans and systems that assures sufficient number of qualified and competent staff to provide care/services. Adheres to administrative policy/procedures relating to human resource management. 9. Evaluates workflow patterns and staff responsibility to extenuate departmental excellence: Performs a workflow system analyses as needed; develops new methods of accomplishing tasks (if indicated); assists managers in developing a cohesive staff that functions as team members; strives to build teams between departments; meets with Medical Directors and Service Line physician leaders to keep them abreast on department progress staffing needs etc.; meets with the Chief Nurse Executive and Vice President of Clinical Operations on regular basis to share progress plans and/or concerns; and develops policies and procedures for the effective operation of hospital services in the assigned departments. 10. Works to ensure that Wake Forest Baptist Health and its affiliates work together effectively in support of the common purposes of providing the highest possible quality of patient care medical education and research across the entire healthcare system.
