The Category Lead Capex & Industrial Spare Parts will be responsible for managing Capex maintenance parts industrial spares fridges and transport related purchases for the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category strategies for Capex parts and maintenance materials.
- Conduct detailed spend analysis to identify savings opportunities and optimize supplier mix for this category.
- Ensure competitive pricing cost transparency and value creation across this category.
- Manage and nurture relationships with global suppliers and OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) focusing on reliability innovation and after sales support.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly performance reviews with suppliers ensuring KPIs are discussed and mitigation plans put in place for the future and escalate any potential risk to top management on a timely basis.
- Negotiate favourable contracts with suppliers and monitor compliance with agreed service levels and KPIs including favourable terms on pricing warranties and after-sales support.
- Support operational efficiency by ensuring availability of critical parts and equipment.
- Provide procurement insights during project planning and equipment installation phases.
- Identify and proactively mitigate supply chain related risks including geopolitical logistical and product quality risks by working closely with all relevant teams including logistics and engineering.
- Develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted supply of critical equipment and parts required in production by proactively working closely with logistics team to ensure a seamless process from order to delivery.
- Provide analysis and advice where needed especially around buy or lease option.
- Work very closely with the tax team on information needed for tax incentive purposes.
- Develop and execute category strategies based on market analysis and spend data and align with company goals budget and operational requirements.
- Take a proactive role in ensuring that projects and part requirements are planned sourced shipped and delivered on time.
- Work closely with finance and operations to forecast plan and track CAPEX investments.
- Evaluate supplier proposals negotiate pricing rebates service fees favourable payment terms and other contractual terms.
- Work with suppliers and finance department to validate payments rebates credit terms and resolve any payment issue promptly.
- Collaborate with engineering operations to plan for major Capex and maintenance parts requirements and to understand technical details requirements.
- Perform any other adhoc assignments requests by Management.
Requirements
- B.A. required/Masters preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. Professional certification and membership to a reputable procurement and supplies body is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of SAP and any other related procurement package.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role in a busy environment.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office Word Excel and Outlook)
- Background and knowledge in engineering field will be an added advantage
