NYAP PASS Therapist (Columbus OH)
National Youth Advocate Program is accepting internship applications on our PASS/Healthy Ways team for the Summer 2026 and Fall 2026 in our Columbus this role you will get hands on experience working with youth and adolescence in our PASS program. You will also rotate through various other therapeutic areas throughout the agency to gain insight to the communities and clients we serve. This position works closely with youth family foster parents and community partners. Enrollment in a Master level Social Work or Masters level Clinical Counseling program required.
Your Internship Experience may include:
- Providing appropriate individual group and family mental health services case management transportation and other professional services meeting or exceeding established outcomes thresholds on behalf of persons served.
- Traveling as needed to provide community-based services to and on behalf of youth and families in compliance with organizational contract and regulatory requirements.
- Completing all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Completing all required training in a timely manner.
- Coordinating and monitoring services for the youth and family in the community including mental health medical educational psychological vocational and social services.
- Regularly reviewing and modifies youth-based plans to assure consistent progress and success on written plan goals.
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with assigned foster parents and families of origin.
- Providing safety assessment crisis response and behavioral stabilization services as required to assure safety and stability for youth served.
- Actively participates in the weekly supervision process.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution.
- Enrolled in an accredited institution for a Masters Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services Field.
- An internship or field placement is a requirement by the institution.
- Upon the completion of the internship the individual would receive credit toward their pursued degree.
- LSW SWT or CT licensure required
- You must be 21 years of age on the first day of your internship
- Experience working in direct service with youth and families is strongly preferred.
- Must have a valid drivers license reliable transportation automotive insurance and a good driving record.
- A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours in the service of foster caregivers families of origin and persons served.
- Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth served foster caregivers system partners and internal customers.
- Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function.
- Demonstrates tolerance and respect for the ideas and actions of others.
- Capacity to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures socioeconomic ethnic religious and racial backgrounds.
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers smart phones and tablets printers fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing spreadsheet and database programs.
Driving and Vehicle Requirements
- Valid drivers license
- Reliable personal transportation
- Good driving record
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100000/$300000 bodily injury liability
