About the role

We have an exciting fixedterm opportunity available within our Financial Services Business Unit for a Senior Analyst Financial Performance. This position will be a key member of the Alkimos Pipeline Alliance.

You will report to the Principal Project Accountant (Alkimos Desalination Project) and build strong working relationships with the Alliance Management Team. You will be responsible for overseeing and assisting aspects of the finance function associated with the addition you may be required to provide adhoc financial performance support across the broader Alkimos Desalination projects and Alliances contributing to the successful delivery of one of Western Australias most significant infrastructure programs.

What you can expect with this role

  • Manage the finance function and provide expert advice to the Relationship Manager Alliance Management Team and the Infrastructure Project Management Office to enable the delivery of project while maintaining alignment with the Corporations reporting requirements.
  • Assist the Alliance in developing and maintaining financial management policies guidelines and procedures that are aligned and in accordance with Water Corporation policies and deliver corporate and financial governance and propriety.
  • Manage the monitoring of cash flow and project costs.
  • Manage the preparation of the Progress Claim from the alliance to the Corporation.
  • Prepare and provide regular financial statements to the Alliance Leadership Team.
  • Monitor day-to-day financial aspects of the Alliance and ensure validity and correctness including reviewing invoices and approving payments from the Alliance Bank account.
  • Review variances being requested by the alliance ensuring compliance with the alliance agreement.

Your skills and experience

For this role we are looking for great talent with:

  • Degree level qualification in commerce finance or relevant discipline.
  • Substantial commercial financial and project accounting experience in a large capital-intensive engineering infrastructure/construction environment.
  • Considerable experience with computerised financial systems.
  • Relevant experience in budgeting and financial management.
  • Sound technical skills and best practice exposure across the range of major financial management and accounting functions reporting budgeting treasury taxation managerial accounting.
  • Membership of a professional accounting body (ICA or CPA) would be advantageous.
