McAuley Community Services for Women helps women and children who have faced family violence and homelessness to take control of their lives. Through a range of supports including accommodation legal health recreation and social responses we support women to leave us with restored capacity and greater opportunities for safe housing economic capability and wellbeing. About the role:

The Communications Manager oversees internal communications and external communications including submissions media and digital platforms. The role is responsible for the development and implementation of communications plans to support the organisational strategy as well as individual projects and programs sector and organisational advocacy and key stakeholder relations.

They will be a key contributor in the building of McAuleys profile and reputation with both internal and external stakeholders and audiences.

This is a permanent hybrid full-time opportunity (we would consider 0.8 for the right person) based in Footscray within our central office. The position reports to the Head of Communications Advocacy & Fundraising.

Key Selection Criteria:

• Tertiary qualifications in public relations media communications or a related discipline.
• Experience in staff management and in collaborating in a small agile team environment.
• Experience in developing and implementing innovative communication strategies across various channels for both internal and external audiences.
• Ability to interview clients who have experienced significant hardship and trauma to develop case studies that will contribute to McAuleys advocacy agenda.
