Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart is looking for Summer Camp Faculty to provide campers a joyful nurturing environment for children ages 12-24 months and 35. Rooted in early childhood best practices our program emphasizes play-based learning social-emotional development creativity and outdoor exploration on our beautiful campus.
Position Overview
We are seeking early childhood educators to serve as Summer Camp Faculty for our youngest campers. This role is ideal for educators who enjoy hands-on developmentally appropriate learning experiences and want to work in a collaborative supportive summer setting.
Faculty are responsible for guiding a small group of children through daily activities while ensuring their safety emotional well-being and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a group of campers ages 12-24 months and 35
- Plan and lead developmentally appropriate play-based activities (arts & crafts music movement outdoor play storytelling etc.)
- Support social-emotional growth independence and positive peer interactions
- Maintain consistent routines and gentle behavior guidance strategies
- Ensure health safety and supervision standards are met at all times
- Collaborate with fellow faculty and camp leadership
- Communicate professionally with families as needed
- Assist with daily setup cleanup and transitions
- Teaching certification or degree in Early Childhood Education Elementary Education or a related field
- Experience working with preschool or early elementary-aged children
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices
- Patient nurturing and enthusiastic approach to working with young children
- Must demonstrate knowledge of appreciation for and commitment to the schools mission anti-racist anti-bias education multicultural teaching and culturally responsive pedagogy.
Compensation
- Competitive compensation at $30.00 to $50.00 per hour
