Job Summary

SUMMARY: The Maintenance Planner plays a vital role in preserving the useful life of equipment and preventing premature failures. This position is focused on the early detection of potential issues to avoid breakdowns and minimize deterioration. By strategically utilizing lead time the Planner ensures that repair work is thoroughly planned and executed efficiently making optimal use of available resources. Through proactive planning and problem anticipation the Maintenance Planner helps maintain equipment reliability and supports long-term operational success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interact with vendors in procurement of cost-effective components.
Assign work orders to technicians based on their skill sets: Injection units Robotic systems Compressors Chillers Silos Water Towers Vacuum Systems.
Plan and prioritize high-impact maintenance projects with scheduling and production departments. Ensure availability of necessary supplies tools and equipment before work begins.
Communicate planned work clearly to all stakeholders.
Coordinate with contractors for timely execution of projects.
Maintain Parts work order system daily.
Track labor per work order and be able to report total cost.
Maintain asset history work completed parts purchased/replaced.
Continually evolve and improve Preventative/Predictive maintenance systems.
Maintain spare part inventories adjust min/max inventory levels based on consumption rates.
Identify critical spare parts utilizing formulations derived from the criticality assessment.
Order spare parts including expediting orders for emergency breakdowns and track them
Assist the EHS Coordinator in scheduling tasks per the Risk Management List using maintenance expertise and appropriate time.
Follow all prescribed manufacturer maintenance procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Familiar with ISO 14001 policies and procedures. Active participant and responsible for in plant environmental / ISO activities. Cooperation with action directives.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE: Related technical certificates five years of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous plastics experience preferred. Knowledge of Engel injection presses is helpful and Viper and Fanuc robots

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to touch handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee must not wear any loose fitting clothing that may get in the way of the moving machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
