Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Senior Infrastructure SystemsAdministratorin our Chantilly VA office in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) community customer as part ofa highly talented highlymotivatedand high-performing team. As part of theInfrastructure as a Service(IaaS)Tier 3team you will support an exciting program which involves design development test and deployment of abroadand complex system in an Agile construct to contribute to mission success for a variety of stakeholders. Whatyoulldo:
- Support our cloud-based classified environment ensuringthe uptime of our multi-tenant multi-levelinfrastructure
- Perform daily system monitoring and monthlypatchingas part of the Operations and Maintenance(O&M)team
- Manage operating system configurations system documentation performance tuning software installationsand updates system hardening and storage allocation
- Helpmonitorand maintainmission-criticalhighly available high-performance networked systems in a team-oriented environment
- Work closely withotherengineering teams to improve our platforms andeliminatecomplexity from architecture and processes
- Monitor and address tenant discrepancy reports pushed to Tier 3
- Monitor and manage system resources tomaintainefficiency
- ProvideTier 3developmentsupport for problem identification diagnosis and resolution
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- An active Top Secret clearance with SCI or SCIeligibility
- Bachelors degree in a field of study applicable to the position with 8 years of relevant experience.4yearsof relevantexperiencemay be considered in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of 8 years of experienceina previousSystem Administrationrole
- Ability to express yourself confidently concisely and accurately through written and oral communications
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with management the customerand tenants across DoD
- Detail/ process oriented can multi-task and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Experience in system installation patchingand testing and system configuration of networked services file systemsbasicscriptingand authentication experience
- Operating System administration skills for Red Hat Enterprise Linux laterto include building systems up from bare metal performing software package installationoperating systemand application troubleshooting and implementing security hardening
- Apply patches updates and hotfixes using Red Hat Satellite YUM or DNF
- Experience ensuringconsistent software versions across environments and systemsare current
- Experience diagnosing / resolvingsystem issues analyze system logs usingjournalctldmesg or /var/log
- Experience collaboratingwith Red Hat support(or other similar vendors)for more complex issues
- Direct experienceworking inWindows and/or Linux operating systems
- Maintain detailed system documentationin ConfluenceGitor other similar tools
- Perform and/or analyzeregular vulnerability scans and address findings
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with virtualization/cloud-based technologies ( CitrixXenServerRed Hat Enterprise Virtualization and/or VMWare) Docker Containers Ansibleand/orHeat templates
- Familiarity with Red Hat tools: RH Virtualization RH Satellite RHOpenStack RH OpenShift
- Configure Red Hat High Availability clusters for critical services
- Manage load balancing and failover systems

Target Salary Range
$112000 - $179000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position the individuals experience education knowledge skills and competencies as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position employees may be eligible for overtime shift differential and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
