POSITION SUMMARY:
The ROOTS Pathway Home (ROOTS PH) Program is looking for driven and compassionate candidates to prepare people coming home from incarceration and walk with them once released. Ideal candidates have experience with case management familiarity with the criminal justice system and experience navigating community resources. ROOTS PH will enroll 150 people over the next 3 years who are returning to Lansing from the Ingham County Correctional Facility. The ROOTS PH Specialists will enroll eligible participants 20-270 days prior to their release from the ICCF. They will help participants create an Individualized Development Plan while incarcerated to identify career interests engage in employment readiness activities match them with educational opportunities training and credential attainment. Post-release this position with support participants with paid work experiences employment placement and retention services and ultimately set them on a path to obtaining living-wage jobs. The ROOTS PH Specialists will deliver Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Employment (CBI-EMP) curriculum to participants both in group and 1-1 settings. This position is responsible for the intake process initial goal setting and social supports service delivery to help participants meet their vocational goals. This will include crisis intervention coaching CBI-EMP Skills Classes family intervention services and case management. This individual will pull together internal and external resources to provide the best support possible.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide person-centered case management services to ROOTS PH participants
Deliver one-on-one coaching crisis intervention and/or training with program participants
Facilitation of the Employment Readiness Curriculum including CBI-EMP skills resume development interview preparation and life skills discussions
Primary Instructor of The Kitchen Project to be delivered post release
Provide needed social supports including obtaining personal documents drivers licenses housing support coordinating with other social service agencies and public benefits
Facilitate Work Experiences and job placements with employer partners
Work with program staff to coordinate appropriate referrals to community partners including Community Mental Health Michigan Rehabilitation Services Michigan Works! and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services
Develop and maintain community employment placements and complete follow up support
Process initial intake documents; Develop and maintain electronic case files for program participants
Maintain an accurate record of participant progress engagement services and incentives
Regular communication with ICCF staff and parole/probation officers to coordinate support services and program activities
Complete transition plan and 12 months follow up services for each participant
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate with community agencies and provide information about community resources to enhance support services for program participants
Conduct orientation sessions for new program participants
Work with an interdepartmental team to monitor participants progress and enhance the quality of services provided
Research and build resources and team knowledge to help Team Members navigate community resources and internal resources so they can develop independence and self-sustainability
May attend community and Peckham events throughout the year
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Assist in the training of people with disabilities as needed
Promote Peckhams vision values and services with the highest integrity and ethics to all customers and stakeholders
Assist in maintaining organization wide quality standards
Miscellaneous duties as assigned

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of cultural diversity in the workplace
Bachelors degree (B. A.) required and 0-2 years of related experience
Or 3-5 years of related experience
Must have understanding of public policy and applicable human resources laws
Ability to research and build resources through community partners and Peckham programs
Competence with Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel
Proficiency in or ability to learn OnTime and Workday or another HRIS system
Ability to maintain and keep strict confidentiality
This position requires passing and maintaining federal and state security background checks and must to gain access into the ICCF.
Ability to obtain Instructor access in accordance with Ingham County CF policies and guidelines.

Degree or Professional Credential in a related field
Experience providing clinical support
Comfortable working with diverse populations including individuals who are previously incarcerated
