JOB OPPORTUNITY - Manager Quality & Inter-Professional Practice - Full-Time Permanent Position

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director Quality & Professional Practice the Manager Quality & Inter- Professional Practice will provide clinical and administrative oversight of the professional practice including the development and implementation of corporate and clinical training programs.

Working as part of the overall quality and clinical programs this position will support the operationalization of Youthdales strategic objectives ensuring that their assigned programs and services meet legislative standards best practice and professional standards.

Accountability

This position reports directly to: Director Quality & Inter-Professional Practice.
Supervises: Social Workers Behaviour Analyst Recreational Therapist Professional Practice CYC Educator Nurse Educator.

Corporate Responsibilities

  • Maintains and adheres to organizational policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Attends work on a regular and consistent basis.

  • Demonstrates management practices which are consistent with the mission vision and philosophy of Youthdale Treatment Centres.

Job Responsibilities

Quality Improvement

  • Lead organization-wide quality improvement initiatives patient safety activities and outcome monitoring
  • Work collaboratively with the Accreditation lead in the Business and Transformation department to coordinate and oversee accreditation readiness and survey processes within the clinical areas.
  • Develop and oversee the delivery of education and training programs including clinical onboarding orientation and ongoing professional development
  • Promote effective inter-professional collaboration and evidence-informed practice across clinical teams
  • Oversee green space and environmental data collection analysis and reporting related to clinical care environments
  • Using data reports to drive quality improvement changes which align with th Quality Improvement Plan as well as the organization Strategic Plan.
  • In collaboration with other clinical leaders support the development review and implementation of clinical policies procedures and practice standards
  • Support staff who supervise practicum students to adequately meet their educational/experiential goals
  • Provide on-call coverage after hours and on weekends as per Youthdale procedures
  • Assume time limited case level responsibility when coverage is otherwise unavailable
  • Ensuring Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) as they relate to the strategic plan are met this includes Length of stay metrics clinical outcome metrics and timely access to evidenced based care
  • Implementing Quality Improvement Initiatives within the different programs to enhance client care
  • Will be part of the Manager On-call schedule.

Administrative

  • Facilitate regular administrative team meetings to meet identified objectives
  • Monitor workload caseloads and QI indicators ensuring service targets are met and to support program decision making
  • Lead staff hiring annual performance evaluations and tracking of required certifications
  • Provide clinical supervision to all MSW/Therapist staff
  • Oversee orientation of new hires as per the policies and procedures of Youthdale
  • Ensure compliance and completion of required documentation (clinical records documentation in CYSIS CAFAS etc.).
  • Review and approve schedules and vacation requests ensuring adequate coverage
  • Ensure that personnel files are completed as required for review on an ongoing basis.
  • Complete reports per MCCSS/CYFSA requirements

Professional Practice

  • Perform training and development needs assessments in alignment with professional practice and quality improvement standards for registered and non-registered professions including but not limited to clinical expertise mental health addictions nursing occupational therapy speech language psychology etc.
  • Leads the development implementation and maintenance of profession specific and inter-professional practice primarily at the program level with some site and organizational level accountabilities.
  • Designs develops implements and communicates a complement of training and development tools reflecting the required attributes and competencies to support profession specific and inter-professional practice in keeping with legislated and professional requirements.
  • Develops a system for onboarding new clinical employees building on the foundation to promote long-term learning and growth with specific attention to the client experience client safety care continuum and clinical outcomes.
  • Develops and delivers key priority training for all staff based on the outcome of the training and development needs assessment and plan.
  • Liaises with and develops effective working relationships with professional practice associations and educational institutions to keep up to date on current and emerging childrens mental health legislation developments and trends and assess their impact on program and agency-wide practices.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Social Work or a related regulated health profession
  • Current registration in good standing with the relevant professional college (e.g. CNO)
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in healthcare mental health or child and youth services
  • Demonstrated experience in quality improvement accreditation and clinical education
  • 2-5 years of experience providing direct clinical supervision. This may include experience supervising practicum students.
  • Eligible candidates will possess excellent interpersonal communication leadership and organizational skills and be able to balance priorities and work flexibly.
  • An ability to anticipate understand and respond to the needs of staff clients families and community partners.
  • Experience in setting priorities program evaluation and reporting on program outcomes
