Purpose of Position
This is a part-time non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
The College of Engineering and Mines at the University of North Dakota seeks a part-time student undergraduate research assistant with a background in Biomedical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Physics Computer Science or Biology to join Dr. Bo Liangs research team. This position aims to support the development and validation of advanced optical imaging systems contributing to cutting-edge research in imaging technologies. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary research environment fostering technical and analytical skills crucial for future academic and professional pursuits. The appointment is anticipated to begin in the fall 2024 academic semester with the potential for continued support over the next three years contingent on performance and project funding.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Dr. Bo Liangs research team contributing to specific tasks aligned with the overall project objectives including
- 1) Assist in the design and construction of a microscope system working with team members to ensure functionality and accuracy.
- 2) Perform data analysis using appropriate software tools to accurately interpret imaging data.
- 3) Conduct validation experiments to assess the optical imaging systems performance and document findings to support project development.
Minimum Requirements
- Willing to learn new experimental methods;
- Responsible for tasks; Strong organization skills and ability to pay attention to details.
- Capable of communicating with other lab members
- Entry-level position for undergraduate students background in Biomedical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Physics Computer Science or Biology
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
