Primarily Day Shift
4 10-hour shifts per week
On-call rotation required
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Technologist to support complex cardiovascular surgical procedures in a fast-paced acute-care operating room environment. The CVOR Surgical Tech will function as a vital member of the surgical team ensuring a sterile field and assisting surgeons throughout all phases of cardiovascular procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scrub duties for cardiovascular surgical procedures across all age groups including neonate pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients
Prepare and maintain sterile fields in accordance with established policies and procedures
Anticipate surgical team needs and provide instruments supplies and equipment efficiently
Perform assigned unit tasks under the direction of the Registered Nurse
Function independently within established protocols while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality
Demonstrate sound judgment professionalism tact and diplomacy in all interactions
Minimum Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires after 2009)
Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Surgical Technologist
Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience required
Certifications & Special Requirements
Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required
National certification required or preferred through one of the following:
NBSTSA (CST)
NCCT (TS-C)
AST
Proficient computer and keyboarding skills
