Overview
Winship at Emory Midtown is seeking a PRN Oncology Acupuncturist to join the Integrative Oncology and Survivorship Program. This role provides evidence-based acupuncture services to established oncology patients receiving care at Emory with the goal of managing symptoms and side effects associated with cancer and its treatments.
The Oncology Acupuncturist will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary disease teams across Winship Cancer Institute to support patients alongside traditional oncology care. This position requires a compassionate patient-centered practitioner who is passionate about integrative medicine and teamwork within an academic medical environment.
Description
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based acupuncture treatmentsto manage symptoms and treatment-related side effects for oncology patients (e.g. pain nausea fatigue neuropathy anxiety).
- Provide care exclusively to established Emory oncology patientsin alignment with institutional clinical standards and safety protocols.
- Collaborate closely with physicians advanced practice providers nurses rehabilitation specialists and survivorship teams across all disease groups at Winship Cancer Institute.
- Document treatments and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record in compliance with Emory Healthcare policies.
- Participate as an active engaged member of the Integrative Oncology and Survivorship Program supporting coordinated whole-person cancer care.
- Demonstrate sensitivity professionalism and cultural humility when working with patients and families facing complex medical conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an acupuncture program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM).
- Minimum of one (1) year of acupuncture experiencein a medical/hospital setting medical office or wellness center.
- Diplomate Board Certificationthrough the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
- Ongoing maintenance of NCCAOM certification and continuing education requirements.
- Current unrestricted Georgia Acupuncture Licensure.
- Documentation of approval by the Georgia Composite State Board of Medical Examinersto provide acupuncture services.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationin accordance with the American Heart Association.
