Job Summary

We are seeking a Project Manager to join our this full-time position located onsite at a refinery in Blaine WA you will work in a schedule-driven collaborative environment working closely with our client and reporting to the Project Management Department Manager. As a Project Manager you will be responsible for small engineering & procurement projects under $5MM TIC. Project scope may include fabrication and construction management. You will be responsible for the projects from define & detailed engineering through construction and close out establishing and executing projects that comply with the client work process and ensuring the safety value quality and timeliness of the project delivery.

Work Arrangement: The schedule for this position will be a regular 5-8s workweek with Monday through Thursday onsite and the option to work from home on Fridays.

Core Responsibilities

Ensure health safety and environmental compliance with zero harm and zero incidents.

Lead and manage small size capital engineering & procurement projects (up to $5M TIC) from proposal through closeout including FEL-3 detailed design procurement fabrication and construction management.

Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with clients contractors and internal teams; foster positive client engagement and clear decision-making.

Prepare engineering project Decision Support Packages for new projects or the next phase of a project.

Lead meetings with clients contractors and internal staff.

Prepare written communications and reports.

Manage and control the projects cost and schedule by ensuring that effective project controls are in place including the change management system.

Identify and implement value engineering opportunities and continuous improvements.

Capture and apply lessons learned throughout project lifecycle.

Job Requirements:

A minimum of five (5) years related experience with a minimum of three (3) years of project management experience.

Accredited four-year Bachelors degree in engineering or another technical field from an accredited university or equivalent experience.

Demonstrated ability to influence the project stakeholders for clear decision making and push back when necessary.

Strong leadership delegation and organizational skills; ability to manage remote/overseas teams.

Understanding of the phase-gate work process for project funding.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-effective manner

Command of essential project controls functions including scheduling planning forecasting estimating and cost management.

Successfully demonstrated experience conducting and coordinating all technical and management aspects of projects.

Strong technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing and implement effective solutions.

Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to be badged for a process safety management governed facility which requires in depth drug screening.

Preferred Requirements/Skills:

Knowledge of local permitting requirements

Demonstration of innovation initiative maturity and sound judgement

Ability to review client engineering standards to ensure conformance in project work packages

Three (3) years of experience working on petroleum refining projects.

Compliance & Work Environment

Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

Will require High Hazard Facilities Training Client Safety Training TWIC Certification and background screening

Participation in random drug and alcohol program required

Duties may require standing walking lifting up to 25 lbs and working at client offices sites or industrial facilities

Overtime may be necessary as workload dictates including weekdays weekends and/or holidays

Candidates must follow client site rules and protocols regarding infectious diseases
