Pay Rate: $52.07 per hour plus shift premiumCategory/Shift: Hourly Full-Time PermanentAbout The Role:This position reports to the Electrical Maintenance Team Leader in Grande Prairie Alberta Canada. The Grande Prairie mill is a 1000 tonne per day Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft pulp mill employees approximately 390 mill employees in a 24-hour FunctionsThe Electrician is responsible to safely assemble install test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring and equipment using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdown and correct the problem. Inspect electrical systems equipment and components to identify hazards defects and need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with AccountabilitiesSafetyParticipate in the safety health and environmental activities in accordance with standards established by the Grande Prairie wiring and control equipment in process areasMaintain and optimize the performance of VFDs PLCs soft starts MCCs protection relays and associated measuring and control new electrical equipmentInstall and commission distribution and control equipment as per engineered specifications in compliance with Canadian Electrical Systems ImprovementsContribute to the improvement of safety and maintenance of technical standards work instructions and procedures identifying and implementing changes as You: Knowledge Skills and Abilities Core CompetenciesStrong Safety CommitmentQuality Orientation and Standards ComplianceTime Management Planning and OrganizingDevelopment and Continual LearningProblem SolvingAccountability and DependabilityDecision Making and JudgmentCommunicationTeam WorkQualificationsRequired qualifications include:Journeyman ElectricianWilling and able to work shift overtime weekends and on-call5 years experience in industrial maintenanceExperience in reading engineering drawingsExperience in troubleshooting equipment issues with electrical and instrumentationProficient in Microsoft Office ApplicationsStrong self-motivationWilling and able to work in a hot humid cold and noisy environmentStrong communication interpersonal and organizational skillsStrong learning orientation and ability to adapt to changeAbility to travel internationally if qualifications include:5 years experience as a fulltime ElectricianAbout Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF):Our GCF business helps customers transform renewable cellulose fibers into essential everyday products.
