Heavy Transport Operator

Location: Mt Isa

Due to continued growth the Aurizons Mt Isa team are seeking a Heavy Transport Operator to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

Remuneration/Benefit:

• Local based residents - attractive hourly rate plus location allowance flexible roster on agreement
• Full time permanent positions working for Australias Largest Rail Freight Operating Company.

About the role:

• Operating Heavy Vehicles with Tipping skel trailers in the Mount Isa area.
• Safe Operation of heavy forklifts and reach stackers - loading and unloading containerised product. Previous experience not essential.
• Undertake all tasks in a safe and compliant manner.
• Operate all vehicles and equipment in line with company policy and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all safety fatigue heavy vehicle operating guide lines loading requirements axle weights and adhering to vehicle specific permits.
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a high degree of professionalism.
• Reporting of risks and hazards in the working environment.
• Ongoing training and development available.

About you:

• Safe Driving Record along with your HC licence with min 3-year experience.
• Heavy forklift Reach stacker and Loader tickets (highly regarded) on the job training will be provided and tickets paid for the right candidates if required. Previous experience is not essential.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to complete paperwork such as pre-starts on vehicles defect reports and other various reporting.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work autonomously.
• Have a strong work ethic be reliable and punctual.
• Pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test.
• Supply full driving history.
• Sound knowledge of fatigue management and work diary requirements.
