Position Type: Stipend (No benefits associated with this position)Reports To: South Meadow Middle School Principal Athletic Director and Head Track & Field CoachPosition SummaryUnder the supervision of school leadership and the Head Coach the Assistant Coach will help coordinate the South Meadow Middle School Track and Field program. The successful candidate will foster a quality program founded on sound fundamentals strong team values and a healthy competitive environment. Our goal is to instill the ethics of hard work commitment loyalty honesty respect and sportsmanship into the program Duties & ResponsibilitiesProgram Coordination: Assist the Head Coach in planning organizing and executing daily practices and meet : Maintain open and consistent communication with the Head Coach regarding athlete progress injuries and program Development: Aid in the selection of event specialties; design and teach technical skills (sprinting distance jumps and throws).Mentorship: Motivate student-athletes academically athletically and personally while maintaining high standards of discipline and : Work cooperatively with administration staff parents and the media to build pride in the athletic program within the : Ensure all activities adhere to school district policies and state athletic association (NHIAA) QualificationsAbility to work cooperatively with and support all other coaches to serve the needs of all organizational skills and the ability to run structured competitive practice leadership skills and the ability to provide constructive growth-oriented : Valid Red Cross First Aid Certificate including CPR and Concussion Training (required prior to start date).Preferred ExperienceAt least one year of successful coaching experience at the Middle School High School or Club participation as an athlete at the High School or Collegiate track record of fostering student-athlete growth and character SkillsStrong work ethic and lead-by-example to evaluate decisions critically and ask clarifying questions to improve program knowledge in specific track events (e.g. hurdles high jump or shot put).
