Job Summary

Residence Life Office Assistant / Desk Assistant RLC

Position Overview:As a Residence Life Office Assistant/Desk Assistant RLC you are a representative of the Office of Residence Life. This part-time position is highly visible role on campus; therefore team members in this position must be attentive respectful friendly and take initiative on tasks. This position also programs at the desk space or in the Student Life Center. This position greets assists and refers all student and staff inquiries to the right direction maintains cleanliness in the work area/environment assist in the cleanliness of Student Life lobby area fitness centers and game rooms and performs other duties as needed (bulletin boards cutting mail sorting organizing creating posters etc).

Essential Duties:
  • Act as a resource for student questions referring them as needed to appropriate campus staff or offices.
  • Communicate regularly with other SLC staff and the Supervisor.
  • Be familiar with the computer logs and procedures to effectively work with students.
  • Greet all students and staff with a friendly face and positive conversation
  • Monitor access to the building by students.
  • Call Security of concerns involving university policies procedures and regulations as needed.
  • Document unusual circumstances regarding students.
  • Be knowledgeable of emergency procedures and the specific duties assigned.
  • Submit weekly job tasks check documents at each shift.
  • Submit work orders as needed.
  • Walk halls to remove old posters/information and hang new posters/information.
  • Attend fall and spring training sessions and team meetings as scheduled.
  • Monitor Campus Game Room(s)
  • Manage and Organize ResLife Storage Room(s) (Meyer Luther Holst)
  • Other duties as assigned
To be eligible to be a CSP student employee one must:
  • Be enrolled and registered as a CSP student (PSEO students are not eligible).
  • Have a United States social security number.*

  • Be in good standing with CSP academic requirements and student accounts.
  • For summer employment priority will be given to the student employees who are enrolled and registered in summer courses.
