Office Full-Stack Developer Intermediate

Position Description:

The Banking Technology team of CGI Canada delivers day-to-day technology and operational services to investment and corporate banking units and their clients supporting business transformation initiatives. The organization differentiates itself through a strong agile culture rapid adoption of technology and data-driven practices streamlined decision-making and an industrialized delivery model supported by both transversal and business-aligned teams.

As part of the Banking Technology team of CGI Canada setup supporting Fixed Income & Credit (FIC) activities) the team develops and maintains a common platform with applications deployed. The team has a long-standing culture of Agile delivery and continuous integration leveraging Kanban methodologies and industry-standard tooling (Jira Jenkins TeamCity Octopus Deploy).
The pricing team is looking to hire a motivated proactive and highly contributing Full-Stack Front Office Developer to work on strategic initiatives with a strong focus on accelerated time-to-market and business impact.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

What will be your DAY-TO-DAY
Act as the main point of contact with US Repo front-office stakeholders.
Design and develop software solutions tailored to trader and business needs.
Own software releases configuration monitoring and production support for system components and related infrastructure.
Provide Level 1 Level 2 and Level 3 end-user support.
Troubleshoot technical and functional issues in a complex global financial environment.
Work closely with users to gather requirements and contribute to solution design and implementation.
Manage multiple workstreams concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
Support system migration and modernization initiatives replacing legacy Excel-based tools with robust APIs and web-based solutions.
Improve existing processes to reduce production support effort.
Ensure business requirements are met and aligned with technical delivery.
Apply IT best practices to improve code quality stability and maintainability.
Follow Agile and Continuous Delivery methodologies.
Contribute to technical and functional documentation to improve knowledge sharing within and across teams.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Your skills and qualifications for the position
Education:
Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Degree or strong background in Finance is an asset.

Experience Required:
2 to 5 years of experience as a software developer.
Bilingualism necessary*
Experience developing applications within the financial services industry.
Exposure to Fixed Income pricing environments.

Technical Skills:
Strong object-oriented programming skills.
Solid understanding of design patterns (e.g. MVVM).
Experience developing applications C# (4.5) Core / versions.
Strong experience with SQL and relational databases.
Experience with Git or similar source-control tools.
Understanding of Agile and CI/CD practices.
Front-end development experience using Angular or React.
Comfortable with scripting languages particularly Python.
Experience with Excel / VBA.
Familiarity with TeamCity and Octopus Deploy.
Knowledge of Capital Markets and Investment Banking activities.
Understanding of Fixed Income products such as Repo Bonds and IRS.
Exposure to risk analysis and pricing concepts.

*Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60000$115000. This role is an existing vacancy.
