Corporate Lending team sits within the Investment Banking & Finance group (IB&F) part of BBVAs Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) division. The team is responsible for the origination structuring underwriting and execution of corporate debt transactions for corporate clients in Spain and Portugal where BBVA has a leading market position. The role would be focused in supporting mid-market corporates in the Iberian region with the full responsibility of the activity.

About the job:

As an Executive Director you will assume a leadership role in driving strategic origination initiatives and delivering complex corporate lending solutions. The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Holding a dialogue and negotiation with clients at the level of CFO/Treasurers to lead their financing transactions with a variety of solutions (among others term loans RCFs bridge loans back-stops guarantee lines working capital facilities...).

• Developing in-depth relationships with mid-market/SMEs clients when providing the best solutions to structure corporate debt always with the objective of leading transactions.

• Managing key internal stakeholders across coverage syndicate legal sales and risk to secure necessary approvals.

• Involvement and supervision of the preparation of high-quality marketing materials financial models and credit proposals for internal committees and syndication processes.

• Conducting the execution of multiple transactions in parallel ensuring high standards and timely delivery.

• Responsible to have a deep understanding of the internal mechanisms and culture as well as adherence to the corporate policies and internal and external compliance regulations.

• Mentoring and developing junior team members fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree MBA or an equivalent graduate qualification in a financial discipline with more than 12 years of working experience in the bank lending field.

• Extensive experience leading syndicated corporate debt transactions.

• Strong decision-making capability and ability to lead origination and execution processes autonomously.

• Proven commercial expertise and client-oriented mindset with the ability to identify client needs and deliver tailored financial solutions.

• Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.

• Absolute knowledge of origination and syndication practices legal documentation standards and internal risk processes.

• Solid understanding of M&A processes and its related financing structures.

• Knowledge of complementary financial markets including corporate bonds ratings private placements project finance LBOs and derivatives.

• Demonstrated enthusiasm for finance capital markets and macroeconomic trends.

• Fluent in English and Spanish.

• Proficiency in Excel PowerPoint Word AI applications and Google Chrome.
