Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME II) will be able to comprehend and analyze processes. This individual is required to have solid process knowledge and develop a technical handbook for the needs of the site. This role also includes the implementation support training and troubleshooting for the assigned process within the facility. The position is assigned to an individual with extensive experience and recognized expertise in their process area.
Additionally the SME II must demonstrate strong technical knowledge in software programming (C# Python) webservices integration SQL Server computer systems hardware specialization and electronics with emphasis on system and equipment integrations. The individual will contribute to the improvement automation and digitalization of manufacturing processes through both engineering and software-driven solutions.
The SME II is responsible for ensuring excellence in the assigned manufacturing process as determined by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. This individual will provide expert advice during urgent events related to high defect rates and ensure that the managed process remains stable controlled and capable of delivering the highest possible yields.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the functional expert for the assigned manufacturing area.
- Support other Engineers with problemsolving and technical guidance.
- Coordinate and deliver training for new hires new functionalities upgrades and technical tools.
- Track and communicate all changes or enhancements to the existing process including software or equipment upgrades.
- Provide support to users and department SMEs.
- Ensure strict adherence to established processes and procedures.
- Work with EOS Domain Experts and MEs to implement Jabil best practices.
- Conduct methodical machine and process evaluations.
- Maintain and develop documentation for the responsible area.
- Participate in the exchange of ideas and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support audits and customer visits.
- Provide frequent updates to relevant managers.
- Identify creative ways to reduce costs by streamlining processes and eliminating nonvalueadded activities.
- Drive continuous improvement through trend analysis metrics management and technical enhancements.
- Propose and implement innovative ideas bestinfield practices and engineering solutions.
- Ensure 100% compliance with company policies (Health Safety Quality).
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Understand and embrace operational aspirations.
- Comply with company safety health and security policies.
- Apply software development skills (C# Python) to automate tasks develop tools or integrate systems that enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Execute and support database queries data extraction and reporting using SQL Server.
- Perform troubleshooting and optimization of hardware systems including electronic components and equipment integrations.
- Collaborate in crossfunctional projects requiring softwarehardware interface development webservices connectivity and system integrations.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated handson experience in the required manufacturing process.
- Advanced knowledge in the assigned technical area.
- Strong initiative in exploring new and advanced methods for improving assembly techniques.
- Lead process and equipment evaluations aligned with site requirements.
- Knowledge in basic statistics and experience carrying out DOE (a plus).
- Understanding of DFM/A FMEA and IPC requirements.
- Ability to write detailed and technical reports for the site.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C# and Python for process automation and tool development.
- Experience working with Webservices (REST/SOAP) for manufacturing system integrations.
- Solid command of SQL Server: queries stored procedures data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of computer systems IT fundamentals and manufacturing software platforms.
- Specialization in hardware diagnostics system architecture and electronic components.
- Experience in electronics and equipment integrations (sensors controllers PLC interfaces communication protocols).
