We are seeking a CMT Field Technician 1 to join our Portland OR team! ACI and Nuclear Density Gauge Certifications required. Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform field materials testing on soil asphalt masonry and concrete and other construction materials in accordance with training and the specified procedures.
- Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
- Perform occasional laboratory tests on soil asphalt masonry and concrete when required to support project objectives.
- Read and interpret construction specifications and drawings and follow operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Prepare timely and accurate reports and documentation of field activities and testing results.
- Accuracy attention to detail and timeliness of results required.
- Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy applicability and reasonableness of test data.
- Work collaboratively with managers and other staff to ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Clean calibrate maintain and store testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Maintains equipment in good working order and adheres to related calibration and storage.
- Completes other tasks as assigned.
Minimum requirements:
- High School or GED required Associates degree preferred No Bachelors required.
- 1-year minimum experience required.
- Basic awareness of problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to accomplish work within required timelines including short long and emergency timeframes.
- Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- Software: Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to lift carry push and pull up to 70 pounds on a regular basis.
- Able to work under pressure and multitask.
- Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Familiarity with Construction practices and Materials testing Preferred.
Technical requirements:
- Drivers License Upon Hire Required.
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I.
- Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.
- Other national regional state and local Materials related certifications within 120 Days Preferred.
Other miscellaneous qualities:
- Outdoor working environment with varying weather conditions.
- May be required to stand for long periods of time and potentially engage in frequent bending stooping pushing pulling and lifting items in excess of 20lbs.
- Sometimes exposed to hazardous environments that would require PPE (personal protective equipment) to be worn.
- Frequently on the road and may remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and engage in frequent eye/hand/foot coordination.
