We are seeking a CMT Field Technician 1 to join our Portland OR team! ACI and Nuclear Density Gauge Certifications required. Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform field materials testing on soil asphalt masonry and concrete and other construction materials in accordance with training and the specified procedures.
• Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work.
• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
• Perform occasional laboratory tests on soil asphalt masonry and concrete when required to support project objectives.
• Read and interpret construction specifications and drawings and follow operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Prepare timely and accurate reports and documentation of field activities and testing results.
• Accuracy attention to detail and timeliness of results required.
• Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy applicability and reasonableness of test data.
• Work collaboratively with managers and other staff to ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Clean calibrate maintain and store testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
• Maintains equipment in good working order and adheres to related calibration and storage.
• Completes other tasks as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

• High School or GED required Associates degree preferred No Bachelors required.
• 1-year minimum experience required.
• Basic awareness of problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to accomplish work within required timelines including short long and emergency timeframes.
• Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
• Software: Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be able to lift carry push and pull up to 70 pounds on a regular basis.
• Able to work under pressure and multitask.
• Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Familiarity with Construction practices and Materials testing Preferred.

Technical requirements:

• Drivers License Upon Hire Required.
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I.
• Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.
• Other national regional state and local Materials related certifications within 120 Days Preferred.

Other miscellaneous qualities:

• Outdoor working environment with varying weather conditions.
• May be required to stand for long periods of time and potentially engage in frequent bending stooping pushing pulling and lifting items in excess of 20lbs.
• Sometimes exposed to hazardous environments that would require PPE (personal protective equipment) to be worn.
• Frequently on the road and may remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and engage in frequent eye/hand/foot coordination.
