We are looking for an IT/Cybersecuritystudent to join the ATCO Architecture Team. Work term starts inMay2026for8 or 12-monthperiod in Edmonton.

The CO-OP Student will support the Architecture Team in improving documentation quality and streamlining architecture processes. This role offers hands-on experience in enterprise architecture practices governance and process optimization aligning with academic learning and professional development.

Who you are:

  • Mustbe enrolled in aco-op (or internship) program at a recognized Canadian university.
  • Currentlyenrolled in a related field (Computer Science Information Technology or Engineering).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
  • Experience withSharepointPowerBIand Office Suite would bean asset.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to diagramming tools (e.g. VisioPowerpoint) is an asset.
  • Interestin enterprise architecture concepts and IT governance.

What you will do:

1. Architecture Documentation

  • Assistin creating and updating architecture artifacts such as blueprints solution diagrams and decision logs.
  • Organize andmaintainarchitecture repositories to ensure accessibility and compliance with standards.
  • Review existing documentation for accuracy and completeness proposing improvements where needed.

2. Process Improvement

  • Analyze current architecture processes andidentifyopportunities for efficiency and standardization.
  • Support the development of templates guidelines and best practices for architecture deliverables.
  • Collaborate with architects to document workflows and governance steps.
  • Conduct research on emerging architecture tools and methodologies.
  • Benchmark internal practices against industry standards and provide recommendations.
  • Participate in architecture working group meetings and contribute to discussions.
  • Work closely with Solution Architects Data Architects and other stakeholders to gatherinputsfor documentation.

3. Research & Analysis

  • Conduct research on emerging architecture tools and methodologies.
  • Benchmark internal practices against industry standards and provide recommendations.

4. Collaboration

  • Participate in architecture working group meetings and contribute to discussions.
  • Work closely with Solution Architects Data Architects and other stakeholders to gatherinputsfor documentation.
