What you will be doing

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Credit Risk Control Expert. As a key function within the second line of defense Risk Control and reporting directly to the Deputy CRO this position will be instrumental in overseeing monitoring and controlling the banks credit risk exposures. This role is crucial for ensuring the credit portfolios are managed within established risk appetite and in full compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:
Credit Risk Monitoring and Control:
  • Implement and maintain robust processes for 2nd line monitoring and control of credit risk exposures against approved limits internal policies and regulatory thresholds
  • Conduct independent analysis and challenge of credit proposals risk ratings and credit portfolio performance
  • Conduct independent analysis and challenge of Receivable Purchase Agreements and BaaS lending project proposals
  • Monitor key credit risk indicators and early warning signals to proactively identify potential deterioration in the credit portfolio quality
Policy and Process Review:
  • Contribute to the development review and maintenance of the banks credit risk policies procedures and methodologies
  • Coordinate and independently review/challenge the periodic assessments of the credit portfolio and related control frameworks prepared by the first line of defense
Credit Risk Modelling Support:
  • Independent review validation and monitoring of credit risk models (e.g. PD LGD EAD)
  • Ensure the effective application of these models in credit decision-making and risk calculation
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with the 1st line Credit Risk and Credit Administration teams to embed a strong credit risk control culture
  • Support the integration of credit risk considerations into new products projects and change initiatives
Skills you should have
  • Masters degree in Finance Quantitative Finance Risk Management Economics or a related field
  • Proven track record (5 years) in credit risk control credit analysis credit portfolio management or a related function within the banking or financial services sector
  • Strong understanding of credit risk regulatory requirements and frameworks (e.g. Basel III / IV CRR EBA guidelines)
  • Proficiency in credit risk modeling concepts (PD LGD EAD) and portfolio stress testing
  • Exceptional analytical quantitative and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights
  • Excellent communication report writing and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex risk issues clearly to different stakeholders
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CFA FRM PRM) are a strong advantage
