DescriptionThis individual serves as a Grant or Contract reviewer for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai/ Mount Sinai Health System. Interacts with the faculty departmental administrators finance and institutional compliance committees on all Sponsored Programs and research programs. Represent the Institution to non-profit funding agencies and federal government officials.
This position reports to the Director of Grants and Contracts within the Central Grants & Contracts Office.
Responsibilities- Review approximately six hundred grant applications per year for all pre-award financial and administrative policies on behalf of Institutions central business office. Interact with departmental administrators faculty and extramural funding agencies (Federal NY State non-profit etc.) to enforce needed corrections prior to institutional endorsement. The need for significant oversight and training in this area is expected.
- Responsible for correct compliance characterization of the above applications and routing to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee Institutional Review Board Bio-Safety Officer and Financial Conflict of Interest in Research Committee. The need for significant oversight and training in this area is expected.
- Review and provide Just-In-Time supplemental and amended information to extramural sponsors on above applications. The need for significant oversight and training in this area is expected.
- Routine data entry and maintenance of data for all non-federal sponsorship in InfoEd system
Qualifications- Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
- NCURA or SRA certification is preferred
- Six years of related experience.
- A thorough knowledge of grants and contracts administration at a level generally acquired through experience working in a central grants and contracts office & completion of NCURA Sponsored Programs Administration levels I & II are strongly preferred.
Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $65885.00 - $112475.95 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience education and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
