Primary Purpose
PRIMARY PURPOSE Career Pathways Specialists work closely with students in the Career Skills and Resource Lab to help them identify their career interests set goals and develop the skills necessary to achieve their professional aspirations.
Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION Under the Career Technical Education Department the Career Pathways Specialist will: Facilitate career building and employment readiness workshops. Guide and support students in the development of professional documents including resumes cover letters and LinkedIn profiles. Provide job search assistance and interview prep. Assist with career exploration and help students identify opportunities that align with their interests education and training. Assist with providing general student services facilitated through the lab. Stay current on school resources support services and CTE events and activities to provide up-to-date guidance. Assist with the development of employment readiness manuals and guides. Maintain and provide staffing support for the clothing closet. Support the coordination of lab workshops events activities and workforce preparation projects as needed. Track student progress and maintain records for grant reporting. Perform other duties as assigned as it relates to the grant.

Desirable Qualifications
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Experience working in career technical education or community college programs and services. Knowledge of local job center services Experience with career development tools assessments and software. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the barriers faced by immigrant and first-generation students.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of two (2) years experience working with adults in careers services. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working with a diverse population including underrepresented and non-traditional students. Comfortable speaking in front of large or small groups with the ability to present in a confident professional and engaging manner. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to learn and apply emerging technology.
Work Schedule
Maximum of 26 hours per week between 10:00 am 6:30 pm
